When calculating amp draw, you will need to total the draw from both radios and factor in several other things. Today, we're announcing the Wouxun KG-1000G Professional Mobile GMRS Radio. During my internet research for better information on programming it, I discovered that Wouxun has a GMRS version of this Radio that is reportedly in process of gaining FCC approval. I definitely buy another one in the future. It's the only GMRS mobile around currently that is an actual radio. The GMRS is 462-467MHz, so the operating range of the antenna is at the fringes of the GMRS. I am able to hit repeaters from a long distance (100 + miles when conditions are right). The programming cable is on the way because you can do more customization through the software. This allows you to, for example, hide the radio body away in a trunk or under a seat while mounting the display within view of the driver. Radio seems ok. It monitors two gmrs frequencies at once. These radios are very similar in construction quality as the best. It is a little pricey but well worth it. Quite happy with the power, features, and especially with the impressive reception. We are preparing to use them during this years Hurricane season.
